Whitelackington Manor Somerset

Whitelackington Manor The South West

A Grade II-listed manor house

The recently refurbished Whitelackington Manor in Somerset, with its vast, immaculate gardens and spacious interiors, is the ideal destination for a get-together with friends or a family reunion. When the weather’s fine, you can enjoy the three acres of land which envelop the manor. Relax beneath the 200-year-old oak with a book and cup of hot tea, get competitive with a game of tennis on the astroturf court or introduce little ones to wildlife like owls and woodpeckers in the enchanting woodlands.

Enjoy lazy, sun-soaked lunches and al fresco dinners outdoors in the sunken terraced patio. It’s the perfect place to start your day, admiring the sunrise over the bronze fountain in the sprawling South Lawn, steaming coffee in hand. Cool off with a dip in the pool, which is walled for privacy and to conserve warmth.

Guest Reviews

We had a brilliant time and there was very little to fault! The house was warm, comfortable and the facilities were excellent. I must also mention that the support provided by Helen and Wendy, during our stay was first class.

This was truly an amazing experience! Helen was absolutely wonderful – she couldn’t have been more welcoming and made us feel like the home was truly ours for the weekend. The house was gorgeous and had everything we needed – from the bath supplies to robes to kitchen items. It was such a wonderful weekend and we will certainly be back to use the house. Thank you for making our stay so lovely!

Plenty of activities to keep you entertained... AND PLENTY OF PLACES TO DO NOTHING AT ALL

At Whitelackington Manor, you’re free to enjoy your escape your way. If you like to stay active, try a game of five-a-side football in the manor’s expansive main lawn, take meandering circular routes through the gardens and woods, or test your skills with table tennis or pool.

Equally, this peaceful, historic manor is full of relaxing nooks and crannies where you can dream the day away or get lost in a good book. The decadent drawing room features plush, textured upholstery and a roaring fire, creating an atmospheric spot for some quintessentially British afternoon tea. Next, snuggle down into a soft leather armchair in the intimate and traditional library. Go on, lose track of time.

Explore ten opulent bedrooms… AND A COSY LOFT FOR EVEN MORE ROOM

There’s plenty of room for everyone at Whitelackington Manor. All rooms have recently been redecorated to the highest standard, and they’re spread over the top two floors of the house for a quiet, serene feel. These rooms feature modern comforts like marble en-suite bathrooms and stylish light fixtures, while also honouring the manor’s original features. Expect ornate four-poster beds, intricate wallpaper and exposed wooden beams.

Young children will love having sleepovers in the loft dormitory, which is also en-suite and sleeps four. In fact, the configuration of the manor’s bedrooms is completely up to you: four have been designed as doubles, and the remainder can be used as twin singles or super-king doubles.

Discover a retreat surrounded by woodland… CLOSE TO FAMOUS HISTORIC AND NATURAL ATTRACTIONS

At Whitelackington Manor, you’re in prime position to explore the best of Somerset’s majestic countryside. In the local area, you’ll find quaint pubs with buckets of old-world charm, such as the Dinnington Docks, which dates back to the 17th-century. Walk a little further to immerse yourself in the history of romantically rural Dillington House, or the National Trust-owned Barrington House.

This spot affords you the best of both worlds, because you’ll also be just 40 minutes away from the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast, with its rugged rock formations and blustery coves.
