Galpin Manor hides its charms behind a discreet hedge in the pretty Dorset town of Bridport, with lots to do locally and the golden sands of West Bay just a mile away.
Enjoy the space, light and elegance when you enter this late Georgian town house. Grab your drinks and nibbles from the smart, well-equipped kitchen and plonk yourselves down in the sitting room. If some want to watch TV while others catch up on the gossip, it’s neatly separated into two areas, with the cosy log burner serving both sides. Space is generous at Galpin Manor, with a huge formal dining room for your celebratory suppers, a low-lit cinema room for those Thomas Hardy adaptations and a laundry and boot room as your first port of call after your Wessex walks. In the garden, enjoy al fresco meals, easily prepared on the gas barbecue, and discover the games room, where you can play table tennis and pool.
Explore the local area, with a day at the beach in West Bay – you’ll recognise it if you watched Broadchurch on TV. Follow the Jurassic Coast along the South West Coast Path, and take a tour of Hardy country, visiting the author’s childhood home and stepping into the room where he wrote his first four novels.
Back at Galpin Manor, the nine bedrooms sleep up to 21 guests and offer supreme comfort with big beds that can be super kings or twins. All have ensuite or private bathrooms. A mix of two, three and four-person rooms, with space for cots, make this a wonderful house for a family gathering, and two of the rooms are on the ground floor for easier access.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 9.30am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for approximately 8 cars at the property.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Galpin Manor. Travel cots and highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times.

Are pets allowed?
Up to four well-behaved dogs are allowed at Galpin Manor, subject to a fee of £45 per dog. More may be possible, subject to prior agreement with the owner. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Respectful hen and stag parties are sometimes permitted, subject to prior agreement with the property owner. Please note there is a higher cautionary deposit amount of £1,000. Please contact us before booking to discuss.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Tesco, Morrisons, Ocado or Asda for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

The dining table can seat up to 22 guests.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £500 during your stay at Galpin Manor (£1,000 for hen and stag parties). This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
