Situated amidst the Quantocks in Somerset, England’s original ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, Green’s Hill House overlooks rolling hills and golden valleys. The stunning views are spread before you as you relax in the vaulted first floor lounge - but draw back for a moment and focus on your immediate surroundings. Ancient stone and herringbone brickwork rub shoulders with stripped-back timber and glass. Oak floors give way to soft carpets, and the inglenook fireplace houses a modern wood burner. It’s as cosy as a cottage yet easily accommodates your party of up to 20.

A second, ground floor lounge has comfy seating and a pool table, and there’s also a full Sky TV package, books, DVDs and board games. In the stylish dining area, gather for meals prepared in the well-equipped country kitchen. Outside, linger over lazy lunches and smoky barbecues. Explore the 15-acre grounds, stopping often to gaze across the dreamy landscape. Take shade by the circular, thatched summer house and chill out in the huge hot tub. Beyond the gates, explore the Quantocks and Exmoor, discover the quaint Somerset coast and visit Dunster village and castle.

The nine ensuite bedrooms are individually styled and luxurious, with TVs and sumptuous sprung mattresses. The bathrooms are as individual as the bedrooms, with a roll top bath here, a waterfall shower there and soft, fluffy towels in abundance. Let sleep come quickly in the soft Somerset silence and wake at sunrise to those idyllic views. We recently stayed at Green's Hill House with our family to celebrate my father in law's 80th birthday. The house was amazing, it comfortably accommodated 16 of us. The rooms were lovely as was the huge kitchen and dining area. Family time in the living room was wonderful too. And most of all the views were amazing.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Green's Hill House just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

The check-in time is 3pm on the day of your arrival, and check-out is at 10am on the day of your departure (or 3pm if checking out on a Sunday).
Are pets allowed?

Up to two dogs are welcome at Green's Hill House (subject to a fee of £25 per dog). Dogs are not allowed in bedrooms or on soft furnishings. More dogs may be allowed by prior arrangement.
Can I invite additional guests?

Sorry, the maximum number of guests allowed at Green's Hill House is 20.
Is the property suitable for a stag or hen party?

Stag parties are not permitted at this property. Respectful hen parties are sometimes permitted, but only by prior agreement with the property owner. Please contact us to discuss.
Can I book an online supermarket delivery?

Many of our guests arrange a supermarket delivery to arrive shortly after their check in time. Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda all provide an online home delivery service in the area.
Can you recommend any local places to eat out?

Are there private chefs that can cater for us during our stay?

Yes, while there is a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering at Green's Hill House, we can put you in touch with some very good local private chefs that can cater for you and your guests for a special celebratory meal, or for every meal during your stay.

The nearest train station is Taunton (9 miles - approx. 20 minute drive).
What is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Bristol (40 miles - approx. 1 hour 10 minute drive).
Do you hold a cautionary deposit?

Yes, we ask for a refundable cautionary deposit of £550 during your stay. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).
How do I book?

You can book online or by calling our friendly team on 01242 352 747. When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance payable 3 months prior to your stay.
