PLACES TO VISIT IN AND AROUND ARGYLL AND BUTE
One of the most striking villages in Argyll and Bute is Inverary, sitting on Loch Fyne. Visit the castle, climb Dun na Cuaiche and discover Inveraray Jail. On the coast, take the family and the dog to Ganavan Sands, Ostel Bay, or the white sands of Kilmory Beach. From Oban, catch a ferry to Mull where, if you’re of a certain age, you’ll recognise Tobermory as Balamory, from the children’s TV program.
Back on the mainland, take a road trip to the Mull of Kintyre or spend a day exploring the Arrochar Alps where there are five Munros as well as the famous Cobbler, aka Ben Arthur.
