Sanderson Castle Hero

Sanderson Castle Scotland

A magnificent Scottish castle in an idyllic setting

Sanderson Castle, a Grade 1 listed medieval castle in Scotland, is a fairytale waiting for you to be part of its story. From the suit of armour in the hallway to the family portraits on the walls, history surrounds you. And from the wood-panelled Great Hall, with its dramatic ceiling mural, to the elegant dining room, with its opulent chandelier, this magnificent castle is as grand as any European palace.

There are secrets and surprises, cosy corners and modern comforts too. Push a bookcase here to reveal a four-poster bedroom, open a door there to discover a snug tucked into the curved walls of the turret. Work out in the gym, hunker down in the cinema room, or gather in the games room for drinks from the bar, pool, darts and board games. Climb to the turret deck for sundowners with spectacular views, then follow the spiral stairs back down to seek sanctuary in the TV room.

Outside, cross the lawns to the softly lit pavilion, where there’s room for eating, drinking and dancing. The grounds of the estate stretch to 143 acres, encompassing ancient woodlands, a fast flowing river, small streams and manicured lawns. Go fishing and stalking, biking and walking, with the optional support of a ghillie to guide you.

Bedtime reveals lots of four-poster beds, warm tartan throws and polished antiques, with luxury ensuite and shared bathrooms. The castle sleeps 18, and if you’re planning something bigger, there are additional cottages in the grounds that you can book. Hidden away in Robert Burns’ Ayrshire, close to the iconic golf courses of Royal Troon, Turnberry and Prestwick, Sanderson Castle is imbued with the spirit of Scotland and is the perfect base for a celebratory break.

Larger Group?

There are three cottages in the grounds that can be booked for an additional charge, bringing the overall capacity to 40 guests (two cottages sleeping 8 guests each and one cottage sleeping 6 guests). Please see list of bedrooms PDF below for further details. Please call for pricing and availability.
