Damson Barn Hero Revised

Damson Barn The South West

Happy Days in a Stylish Somerset Barn Conversion

Damson Barn pulls off the seemingly impossible with its marriage of space and cosiness, country charm and sharp style, traditional materials and modern comforts. Hidden among undulating green fields close to the Quantocks in Somerset, here you can gather up to 14 of your nearest and dearest for a carefree weekend.

Start in the L-shaped, open plan kitchen and living area, beneath a lofty, curved, timber-clad ceiling. Conjure up delicious meals in the huge Farrow & Ball Green Smoke coloured country kitchen and serve them straight to the large wooden table, the convivial heart of this rural retreat. Then retire to the comfy seating area, where the ceiling slopes lower for cosy vibes around the wood-burning stove.

Spend happy hours outside enjoying the views over a barbecue, playing ping pong and challenging the children to some garden games. Dip in and out of the Scandi-style octagonal indoor pool, restore your zen in the sauna and congregate in the 10-person hot tub. After witnessing dramatic sunsets from the west-facing terrace, pile into the plush cinema room to argue over which film to watch on the 85-inch screen.

Sleep, when you are ready, promises to be deep and peaceful, cocooned in luxury linens in one of the five ensuite bedrooms. They can be king or twin, and there are four additional pull-out beds for the children.

All around you at Damson Barn is the timeless beauty of the Somerset countryside. Explore the Quantocks, the Blackdown Hills and Exmoor, search out chocolate box villages with welcoming pubs, or head to the coast for a happy day of buckets and spades.
