Penbridge House

Penbridge House The South West

A SOMERSET SCENE AND A HOT TUB WITH VIEWS

Penbridge House is worthy of a second look. Deep in the Somerset countryside with rural views in every direction, it’s also just a few fields from the world’s most famous music festival, Glastonbury. Whether it’s your luxury base for a welly-clad weekend of music or you’re here on any other of the 360 days of the year, it’s your dream of a West Country Georgian manor for up to 14 guests.

Take a moment when you arrive to soak up the views, then head inside where the marriage of original features and contemporary comforts elevates your getaway into a special occasion. Chat over breakfast, make meals and mix drinks in the country kitchen, with a Range Cooker, electric oven and American fridge-freezer, then serve up supper in the stylish dining room. In the drawing room, the marble fireplace and tall sash windows are the backdrop to sociable soirees on super-comfy sofas. And in the cosy cellar, you can prop up the bar while you choose your karaoke song or enjoy the benefits of the sauna. Outside, soak up the Somerset scene from the hot tub after a few games of pool and ping pong over in the games room.

Whether you spend your days relaxing to the sound of birdsong, exploring the area or - for those five days in June - feeling the festival vibe, bedtime brings with it sweet dreams. The six bedrooms boast king-size or even a six-foot bed, smart shared or ensuite bathrooms with a roll top bath or walk-in shower, and views of the rolling Somerset hills. Penbridge House is a place where you can leave the world behind.

Guest Review

Perfect house for our family celebration. We recently spent 5 days at Penbridge House for a birthday celebration. The house is fabulous! It oozes character, is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. It had everything our multi-generational family needed for a great time. The weather was very warm for the duration of our stay, so the hot tub, barbecue, outdoor space and garden were well utilised. However, with the games room and other amenities at the property, there would be plenty to do whatever the weather or time of year.
