Welcome to Wales, where just a hop across the border from England feels like you've entered a new world entirely. This compact country boasts inspiring hills, formidable castles and moody coastlines of crumbling rock and golden sand.
After a busy day out and about, there is nothing as nice as a comfy bed and a good night’s sleep. So lie back and relax in perfect luxury and splendid style. The property sleeps fifteen (or twist our arms and we can squeeze in a couple more on a sofa bed and a z-bed). There are seven bedrooms (four king size, two twin rooms and one with three single beds). There are five bathrooms, three of which are en suite. Each room has a Smart TV, luxury sprung and memory foam mattresses, luxurious bed linen and soft, fluffy towels.
Want to explore? There is plenty to see and do all within a few miles. With its gently undulating hills, this is a terrific area for walking and cycling. Breathe in the Somerset countryside air as you wander through the orchards that are used to create the famous Somerset ciders. Why not visit the cider brandy distillery and take a guided tour? Or pop into a fruit farm where you can buy fresh produce to help you create wonderful meals for all your guests. Visit the nearby villages, most of which have characterful village pubs where you can pop in for one of those ciders, or a pint of real ale, and a chat with the locals who will be only too happy to regale you with tales of the local mythology. Some of it may even be true! Ten minutes by car will take you to Barrington Court, a beautifully restored Tudor mansion now in the hands of the National Trust and set in the most beautiful, ever-changing gardens where you can while away a pleasant afternoon. Or take the twenty minute drive to the little town of Ilchester where you can experience life as it used to be lived and visit the Ilchester Museum which certainly has a story to tell: of history, conquest, heroism and treachery, of politics, prosperity and poverty. Or visit the local rifle range, try a spot of fishing, or simply relax in the gardens. Whatever you do, it helps to unwind in the two hot tubs, which are big enough to take the whole party. On balmy summer evenings, barbecue on the gas BBQ and enjoy the sun going down as you chew the cud and reflect on your day’s activities.
