Set close to Fistral Beach in Cornwall, and just five minutes' walk across the headland to the stunning white sands of National Trust-owned Crantock Beach. Just 10 minutes' drive from Newquay.
There are several wonderful beaches to explore:
Fistral Beach (2 mins walk)
Miles of pristine white sand to play on and an excellent opportunity to surf. Walk down the steps off Esplanade Road (why not stop off at the Sea Spray Café on your way down for an ice cream?). Walk along the beach to the Newquay end to find a selection of surf shops, cafés and restaurants as well as the grand and quirky Headland Hotel.
Crantock Beach (10 mins walk when the tide is out, 20 mins drive)
Crantock is another stunning wide sandy beach, this time owned by the National Trust just on the other side of Pentire headland.
Poly Joke Beach (1 hour walk, 12 mins drive)
Poly Joke is the next tiny beach along from Crantock and is a pleasant walk along the South West Coast Path to reach it.
Watergate Bay (15 mins drive)
Watergate Bay is north of Newquay itself, another astonishing expanse of white sandy beach with the family friendly Watergate Bay Hotel.
Further afield:
Almost every beach for miles around is jaw-droppingly beautiful; huge expanses of pure white sand, getting more stunning the further south you travel. If you get the weather you can’t really go wrong, a few of our favourites are:
As Pentire Penthouse is on the top floor with only a paved terrace for the hot tub, dogs are generally not allowed, except in exceptional circumstances. Please check prior to booking.

Please call us to book if your guest numbers are above 8 guests.
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival at Pentire Penthouse, and check out is at 10am.
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at Pentire Penthouse. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).
There is a highchair and cot available at Pentire Penthouse. However, there is a wide open staircase opening into the middle of the top floor sitting room which can't be sealed off, so the property may not be suitable for families with very young children.
