Alamore Estate Scotland

A SCOTTISH FAIRY TALE ON THE SHORES OF A LOCH

Alamore Estate is a Victorian mansion that looks like a castle and feels like a fairy tale made real. Outside, it overlooks Loch Tummel and Schiehallion, an eminently climbable Munro. Inside, rich colours, bold patterns and sumptuous fabrics set the scene for an epic gathering.

Meet at the bar in the library for pre-dinner drinks and retire to the drawing room later, to keep the party going in front of a roaring fire with some old-time classics on the grand piano. For quieter moments, escape to the Tower Room and bury yourself in a book or simply gaze through the window at the magical views.

Outside, there’s a purpose-built seating area complete with barbecue and firepit. Surrounded by 40 acres of gardens bordered by the loch and including wildlife-rich ancient woodland, there’s no end of outdoor activities you can take part in. Go fishing off the jetty, take a ride in the Maxima 550 sloop, or paddle your own canoe. Set up tournaments on the all-weather tennis court, play boules, or hone your golfing technique on the professional putting area. If rain stops play, head indoors to the games room for pool and darts.

The 10 bedrooms include courtyard rooms for easy access, four-poster rooms with glorious views, and a fun four-bed dormitory for the teenagers on the second floor.

In this unspoilt Perthshire location, there's a great pub half a mile up the road, and local attractions include whisky distilleries, an enchanted forest, and ‘The House of Bruar’ - also known as the Harrods of the North!
