If you have an idea in your mind of the perfect Cotswold manor house, all mellow honeyed stone, deep fireplaces and formal gardens, it won’t be far different from The Manor at Windrush. 700 years have gone into the making of this stunning and luxurious country escape and it shows in every little detail.
Every room has an abundance of exposed beams, the sunlight filters through leaded windows, and plush velvet sofas are ready to catch you when you drop into them. The history that speaks to you, does so alongside present-day luxuries, from the kitchen equipped with Miele appliances to the snug with Sky TV, Movie System and Xbox.
Outside, there’s a whole new world to discover. Wander through stunning formal gardens, possibly the most beautiful in all of the Cotswolds. Discover the secret cinema, the private boating lake and the shared woodland playground. Have a knockabout on the shared tennis court, then flop into your own private, hidden hot tub or fire up the Weber barbecue on the lawned lower garden.
When the day is done, which is your bedroom? The Bentley Bedroom with its four-poster bed, the Windrush Bedroom with its luxury marble ensuite or one of the attic rooms, where there’s a family suite and another super king or twin bedroom? Whichever of the five restful rooms is yours, you can expect luxury bed linens and bathrobes and 100 Acres botanical toiletries.

You will be taken on a journey through time and trained to make your favourite cocktails along with some new cocktails too. Some even include fire, smoke and other theatrical techniques too! An experience to remember.
Hot Air Ballooning
Take to the air and discover the splendours of The Cotswolds from the skies! It's the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of this region. Every balloon flight is a unique adventure, suitable for both young and old.
Cotswold Car Tour
You will be collected from Windrush Hyde Estate in a luxury Range Rover for a bespoke tour of the Cotswolds with our knowledgeable guide. Itineraries can be changed to suit individual choice, but typically this tour would take in the picturesque northern area of the Cotswolds.
Murder Mystery
A cunningly crafted plot will put your sleuthing skills to the ultimate test as you become wholly immersed in a perplexingly deadly story. With twisting tales and numerous shadowy suspects, you must keep your cool and piece together crucial clues to reveal the culprit's true identity; before somebody else loses theirs!
Clay Pigeon Shooting
Whether you are a seasoned professional or a complete novice, the fantastic outdoor pursuit of clay shooting will either fuel your passion, or be the start of a brand new hobby for you!

This is a team event where one member operates the foot controls, whilst the other attempts to steer (remember the steering is reversed!) especially hilarious when we decide to blindfold the person steering!

Model Village, Bourton-on-the-Water
The only grade II listed model village in the country! The Model Village is a one-ninth scale replica of the heart of the beautiful Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, containing all the buildings from the Old Water Mill (now the Car Museum) down to the Old New Inn and the ford, all built in Cotswold stone. Within 15 minutes' drive from Windrush Hyde Estate.
Birdland Park & Gardens, Bourton-on-the-Water
The beautiful setting is inhabited by over 500 birds. Flamingos, pelicans, penguins, cranes, storks, cassowary, and waterfowl can be seen on various aspects of the natural water habitat. There are also over 50 aviaries featuring parrots, falcons, pheasants, hornbills, touracos, pigeons, ibis and many more. Within 15 minutes' drive from Windrush Hyde Estate.
Cheltenham Town

Chipping Campden
A quintessential Cotswolds town brimming with character, Chipping Campden was at the centre of the Arts & Crafts movement and today offers a brilliant selection of individual shops - home to Robert Welch cutlery & kitchenware. Within 10 minutes' drive from Windrush Hyde Estate.
Hidcote Manor Garden
One of England's most beloved Arts & Crafts gardens and a National Trust flagship, Hidcote unveils itself in a sequence of beautiful themed 'rooms', originally designed by Lawrence Johnson. The 10.5-acre grounds are also home to a plant shop and café, and Hidcote's proximity to Kiftsgate makes them ideal to double up for a day trip.
Blenheim Palace and Gardens
Given the palace's status as a World Heritage Site, you'd expect the gardens to be pretty spectacular - and they don't disappoint. Spanning an enormous 2,000 acres, they include water terraces, a succession of formal and pleasure gardens, a butterfly house and the famous Malborough Hedge Maze.
Broughton Castle
This moated manor near Banbury is one of the most attractive in England. Recognisable from numerous film appearances, the 14th-century castle is graced with spectacular walled gardens and stained glass (only open on certain days).

Berkeley Castle
This intriguing castle has been the home of the Berkeley family for more than 850 years. It has been used as a filming location for many period dramas, including the BBC's Wolf Hall, Galavant and The White Princess.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival at The Manor at Windrush, and check out is by 11am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for up to 8 cars on the driveway.

Is the house suitable for children?
Yes, children are very welcome at The Manor at Windrush. The following are provided for children (subject to availability):
- Two travel cots (please bring your own cot bedding)
- Two highchairs
We can also provide a crèche service at The Manor at Windrush, subject to an additional fee (please give us at least two weeks notice).

Are pets allowed?
One dog is allowed in the Manor, for no additional charge. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, in any of the bedrooms or on soft furnishings.

Are there any local pubs you can recommend?
Yes. We'd recommend the following pubs, all within a short drive of The Manor at Windrush:
- The Plough Inn, Ford: a popular 16th century inn renowned for its excellent menu, serving fresh local produce and fine Donnington Ales.
- The Hollow Bottom, Guiting Power: a charming Cotswold country pub located in the stunning setting of the village of Guiting Power.
- The Horse & Groom, Bourton on the Hill: with all the laidback charm of a true Cotswolds country pub, at the Horse and Groom they pride themselves on their friendly service, award-winning food and drink.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,500 during your stay at The Manor at Windrush. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can check availability and pricing and place your booking request online, or by calling our team on 01242 352 747.
When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
