PLACES TO VISIT IN GWYNEDD

The jewel in Gwynedd’s crown is Snowdonia (Eryri), the largest mountain range in Wales and an outdoor playground with spectacular views. If Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is too busy, try scaling Cadair Idris or Carnedd Dafydd. Make time too, for Snowdonia’s idyllic villages, such as Beddgelert, steeped in myth, Bala, home to the largest lake in Wales, and the curious, Italianate town of Portmeirion.

Hit the beaches at Barmouth, Aberdovey and around the Llŷn Peninsula and head over to Anglesey for 140 miles of unspoilt coastline. Visit outstanding castles at Harlech, Caernarfon and, further north, Conwy for a glimpse into Wales’s past. And come home to more modern comforts and luxuries in one of our large houses in Gwynedd.
