Arrive at this stunning period property to a complimentary glass of champagne, then prepare to exclaim a series of ‘wows’ as you explore the house and gardens. Sumptuous interior design that speaks of both comfort and elegance works a charming spell. Lounges are for lounging with big screen TVs, cosy sofas and open fires. The dining room is for formal dining amidst candlesticks and crystal. And 10 luxury ensuite bedrooms boast five-star beds, plush velvets and metallic accents from Zoffany, Little Greene Paint Company and Mulberry.

Keep some ‘wows’ in reserve. You will need them for the magnificent wine cellar complete with tasting room, the high-tech cinema room, and the traditional club style bar, all dark wood and rich leather seating. With up to 20 guests staying, a decent kitchen is a must. Cartmel Manor has two! A luxury Smallbone kitchen complete with Aga, Miele appliances and wine cooler, and a commercial kitchen should you need to scale up. Outside, relax in six acres of landscaped grounds, whether it’s al fresco drinks served from the orangery, a soak in the hot tub, gentle woodland walks or family games on the lawn. 

Larger group?

There is a separate gatehouse that sleeps 2 (situated approximately 100m from the main house) that can be booked at additional cost. There is also a four-bedroom house in Cartmel, opposite the acclaimed L’Enclume restaurant, which sleeps a further 8 adults (at additional cost). These accommodations can be booked together or separately. Please call for details.

My family and I stayed at Cartmel Manor for a week. We preferred to live in a house rather than a hotel. Our expectations were all fully met at the Manor. The rooms are beautifully adorned. The social areas have all necessary amenities. The house is ideally located with easy access to shops, restaurants and pubs. The gardens are well manicured and create a very serene environment. The staff are most helpful. All in all a great experience!

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Cartmel Manor just perfect. In all of our large houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group.
