Large house rentals in the UK with a view of the sea

From the south coast of England to the west coast of Scotland, find your favourite house or cottage with sea views, for a gathering of all your favourite people. A house where you can throw open the curtains in the morning and see the sunlight sparkle on the water, spot boats on the horizon, and taste the fresh tang of the sea air. Nothing quite lifts the heart like a view of the sea, and we have a selection of amazing houses with just the view to turn your get-together into a truly special holiday.

Some of our houses are right beside the sea, like Bay View House in Wales and Barford Beach House in Cornwall, where you can walk straight onto the beach. Perhaps one of the best places to embrace the call of the sea is from The Beach House, not far from Padstow in Cornwall, where every bedroom has a balcony with uninterrupted Atlantic views. Or stay at Pentire Penthouse, where the picture window is a frame for the famous surfing hangout of Fistral Bay.

We have many more house with sea views, from Wyatt Castle in Dorset, which overlooks the English Channel, to Devonhill in Devon, which offers tantalising glimpses of the sea through the treetops on its hillside position. Check out all our luxury large houses with sea views below.

Large Houses and Cottages with Sea Views FAQ

  • Do you have sea view houses with private beaches?

Some of our houses have a private beach, like Carron Castle on the Tay estuary, where you have a fire pit to make your own little beach party. We also have many houses with direct access to a beach, even though the beach may not be private, and you can find more details on our Houses with Direct Beach Access page.

  • What should we bring for a holiday by the sea?

You will have all the usual items on your list, like swimming gear, buckets and spades for the children and sunscreen. Throw some beach towels in too, as well as fishing nets for rock pooling, surf boards or body boards, beach footwear and some easy-going literature to dip into when you’re done splashing about. Pop your shades on and you’re ready for your seaside holiday!

  • Where in the UK are your cottages with sea views?

We have large cottages with sea views all around the UK, from the south west of England to Scotland and also in Wales. We also have a great choice of large houses and cottages which are near to the sea but without sea views. Although they don’t have a sea view, you are either within walking distance - at Galene House the seafront is just 2 minutes’ walk - or you are less 20 minutes’ drive from the sea, such as at the lovely Suffolk Farmhouse, which is a short drive from the quintessential seaside town of Southwold.

  • Do you have any dog-friendly cottages with sea views?

A lot of our houses and cottages with sea views are dog friendly. If you are interested in a particular house, look for the symbol of a dog in the booking box which is just below the main picture. If you are unsure whether a property is dog friendly or if you have any questions, get in touch and we can find out everything you need to know.
