The nearest airports are Exeter (29 miles) or Bristol (38 miles). It is also possible to land helicopters on the football pitch of Haygrass House (by prior arrangement).

Will the equestrian facilities be used during our stay?

Please note the equestrian facilities at Haygrass House are rented out separately but will have little or no impact on your stay (with separate access and located behind the house), with beautiful competition horses in the outer fields of the estate. If you like horses, please do go down to the fields to watch them but please do not try to either feed or pet them. Horses, especially highly trained ones, are temperamental animals and can kick or bite. Please ensure your children do not try to go near them unless their trainer is there. The immediate gardens around the house are private and exclusively for guests' use.

Is there any traffic noise?

Haygrass House is located in the countryside, with the hum of motorway traffic only noticeable in the grounds. This will not detract from the enjoyment of your stay.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,500 during your stay at Haygrass House. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

CONTEMPORARY STYLE IN A GEORGIAN COUNTRY CLASSIC

Haygrass House in Somerset is a Georgian classic with a modern heartbeat. As you approach the porticoed entrance, the fine-boned symmetry of this grand country house hints at the beauty within. Drop your bags in the entrance hall, suffused with light from the original skylight above the staircase, and choose your favourite room. Is it the double-aspect drawing room, where you can retire for after-dinner drinks? The tranquil library, with French doors to the terrace and garden? Or perhaps the media room, where you can gather for movies on the huge screen? High ceilings, sash windows and open fireplaces grace almost every room, blending a sense of space and with a feeling of warmth.

As befits a country house, the boot room is almost big enough to live in, while the kitchen is bristling with high-end appliances, from the Fisher & Paykel fridge-freezer to the 5-oven Aga, making meals a joy to prepare. And wait ‘til the children discover the two-storey tree house, complete with slide and swings! Anyone still to please in your group? There is the option to book the separate stable flat for the duration of your stay which can accommodate up to six guests (two double-bedded rooms and two comfortable z-beds) for the additional cost of £700 for 3-night weekend stays or 4-night midweek stays and £1,200 for 7-night stays.
