Blissfield House Hero

Blissfield House Heart of England

A historic hideaway in Worcestershire

At the end of a mile-long private drive on the Herefordshire and Worcestershire borders, Blissfield House is a little piece of heaven. This gorgeous six-bed Medieval mansion, arranged around a courtyard with a separate four-bed cottage and an ancient barn, is perfect for a family getaway.

Blissfield House is a crowd-pleaser. Some will love the wealth of original features, preserved and restored with the help of English Heritage. Others will be more interested in the outdoor hot tub or the 50-inch screen in the TV room. And everyone will love the little steam railway, on which, depending when you stay, you can arrange for a private steam train experience.

Preparing meals is easy in the sunny kitchen, which has a Falcon professional oven, two dishwashers and an American-style fridge freezer. Serve up in the dining room, where the original cruck beams, flagstone floors and inglenook fireplace set the atmosphere. Every room at Blissfield House has the wow factor, blending the old with the new; polished timbers and designer fabrics, old flagstones and colourful sofas, four poster beds and luxury ensuite bathrooms.

Outside, enjoy beautiful nature walks on the estate, as well as two lakes for fishing, kayaking or wild swimming. There’s also a hot tub, all-weather tennis court and far-reaching country views. The children can play table tennis in the barn, work their way round the mini maze, or hang out in the treehouse.

Finish each day with a game of croquet followed by sundowners on the south facing terrace, or a cosy get-together in the sitting room in front of the open fire. Blissfield House is where you bring together your favourite people and leave the world behind.

Guest Reviews

We had a wonderful family long weekend. The house and cottage were very comfortable, beautifully furnished, well equipped and very spacious. The grounds were beautiful and there was so much to do - tennis, croquet, wild swimming, hot tub and walks. The miniature railway had an open day whilst we were there and it was a real highlight.
