Stonemoor House is a sensitively restored, six-bedroom, Georgian home, set in an acre of ornamental gardens designed by Sir Joseph Paxton. Step into the entrance hall with its Victorian tiled floor, grand fireplace, bookcases and armchairs and the scene is set for a luxurious and relaxing holiday.
Start with drinks in the drawing room, where you can admire the gardens from the large bay window, before moving through to the open plan kitchen and dining area, with its cosy mezzanine area above. This kitchen, equipped with Miele appliances, has hosted the Hairy Bikers, and local chefs say it’s the best kitchen in the area! Follow on to the games room, a lovely room with a decorative ceiling and French doors to the garden. The TV and reading room, which retains its original wood panelling, offers yet another space to relax.
Outside, seek out one of the many seating areas, from the walled patio with its Big Green Egg barbecue to a quiet corner and tea for two. Play croquet on the lower lawn, surrounded by scented flower borders and the stone balustrade and steps. Stroll through the woodland to discover the specimen trees, including a giant redwood and two gingko biloba trees, which are among the oldest in the country.
After days exploring the Peak District National Park, your supremely comfortable bedroom awaits. Luxury ensuites boast a mixture of roll top baths, walk-in showers and travertine tiles. If you don’t have an ensuite, lucky you, you get to use the amazing Moroccan wet room, with its basin from the souks of Marrakech.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Stonemoor House just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for 5-6 cars on the front drive and 4 at the rear.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with any of the main supermarkets for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Stonemoor House. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Children's books are also provided. Please note, parents should supervise children at all times as there is an aquatic rockery on the upper level and a roadside border that is unfenced (although there is a deep hedge).

Are pets allowed?
Sorry, pets are not allowed at Stonemoor House.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Stag parties are not permitted at this property. Respectful hen parties (over 28 years of age) are sometimes permitted, but only with express permission from the property owner prior to booking. Please contact us to discuss.

How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The dining table in the open-plan kitchen dining room can seat up to 14 guests comfortably.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £500 during your stay at Stonemoor House. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
