Parsonage House Hero 2

Parsonage House The South West

DEVON HEAVEN FOR A FAMILY GATHERING

Only birdsong and the breeze through the trees - and perhaps the ‘hellos’ of the resident donkey – fill the air in these four acres. With self-contained properties dotted round the grounds, it’s like your own peaceful village at Parsonage House. The Main House, a Georgian former rectory, sleeps 10, the self-contained Apartment in the house sleeps two plus two children, the Coach House sleeps two, and the Shepherd’s Hut sleeps two. They all have their own, delightful, outside seating areas, including a two-person hot tub at the Shepherd’s Hut.

Chat together as you gaze at the views, walk among the garden flowers, play tennis, or relax in the summer house. Sit with a book by the swimming lake and let the children play on the ground level trampoline or chase each other across the lawns. In the games barn, see who can win at pool and table tennis.

Watch it all from the long terrace, where there’s a dining area, firepit and a six-person cedar hot tub. A barbecue and pizza oven complete the outdoor life. Back inside, meals are a whizz in the well-equipped kitchen, which opens onto a pretty courtyard, and there’s room for everyone at the dining room table, where there’s also a piano. After dinner, throw a log on the wood burner in the sitting room and sink into sofas made for down-time.

In this peaceful idyll, surrounded by sheep and cows, rolling hills and big skies, Woolacombe Beach is a short drive away and Exmoor likewise. Walking, days on the beach, kicking back and doing nothing; whatever your heart’s desire - and if it’s different for everyone – Parsonage House makes it possible.
