We’re often asked how to make the most of your time over a weekend. We tend to get great feedback when our guests choose to do something like this:
Friday: The arrival day tends to be relaxed. Check in is typically at 4pm, so if you have the day off, why not plan a day out somewhere on your journey. It breaks the journey up, and means you’re not waiting around while the house teams perfect your country house.
When everyone has arrived and cars unpacked, why not pop open the Moët and toast your weekend away! Most guests have a fairly informal meal on the Friday. We can help to arrange a private chef, or you can always consider getting chef-prepared meals to warm up and serve yourself.
If you’re planning to self-cater, why not arrange for a super-market delivery to your large country house to set you up for the weekend.
Saturday: Start the morning with a hearty breakfast. Most of our country houses are geared up well for self-catering, so everyone can help prepare a breakfast feast.
Our country houses are all located in amazing UK destinations, so why not get out and explore. Pre-plan a day out, or ask us about activities we can help arrange from canoeing to quad biking.
Our top tip is not to try and cram in too much. Leave a bit of time to enjoy your weekend country pad. Most of our guests make an event of Saturday night, so get dressed up and have a special meal to remember. Here’s when a private chef can really make your weekend special with an exquisite dinner (oh, and they can also take care of all the clearing up too).
Your country house weekend could also be set off perfectly with an entertainer. Depending on the house, we can help to arrange anything from musicians to murder mystery actors to casino nights and more.
Sunday: the day to recover from last night’s fun and frivolity. Enjoy a relaxed day with walks around the grounds of your country house or if the house has one, spend the day by the pool. Or, why not arrange for a private spa therapist to come in and offer some incredible treatments in the comfort of your own big house!
If you’re staying for 3 nights – great! That means you’ve got another night of fun. We’d suggest theming the night differently from the Saturday. In the summer, why not have a big summer BBQ, or in the winter a traditional Sunday roast. Again, our chefs can come in and do it all for you if you’d prefer, and they all have lots of ideas for interestingly themed culinary experiences.
Monday: The time has come to depart from your country house, knowing you’ve had an amazing weekend.
