Two things draw your eye in the upper floor, open plan living space at The Retreat Barn in Wales. The beamed ceiling that stretches the length of the room and the views that stretch across the vale. A blend of rustic charm, vibrant art and clean, Scandi style make this space feel expansive yet cosy. From the well-equipped kitchen, you can survey your fellow guests in this sociable space as they lounge on the sofa watching the 52-inch TV, sit on the window seats gazing at the view or warm themselves in front of the log burner. When you want a quiet space to hide with a book or watch the cricket, disappear into the downstairs snug. Then, when you’re feeling sociable again, you can head to the large games room, where you can play table tennis and table football or clear a space for Yoga or Pilates. If you’re planning a wellness retreat, there’s yoga equipment for hire and the owners can help find a retreat chef to provide healthy, nourishing meals.
Soak up the sun on the long terrace or in the fire pit seating area. After a game of tennis, fire up the barbecue, with everything you need for a delicious al fresco meal on hand in the outside kitchen. Sit back and enjoy the views or get your boots on and explore them, with Offa’s Dyke Trail on your doorstep, Snowdonia nearby and the Clwyd Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty before you.
By the day’s end, you’ll be ready to sink into sweet dreams between organic cotton bedlinens in one of the six double bedrooms - four ensuite and two with a shared bathroom. We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at The Retreat Barn just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is a large gravelled off-road parking area for 10 cars.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at The Retreat Barn. Please bring your own travel cots and highchairs for infants. Please note, parents should supervise children at all times as there are no stair gates and there is a log burner in the living area.

Are pets allowed?
Sorry, pets are not allowed at The Retreat Barn. The property is located on a working farm with pets and livestock.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Mature hen and stag parties (aged 30+) are sometimes permitted, subject to prior agreement with the property owner. Please contact us before booking to discuss.

How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The dining table can seat up to 14 guests.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Tesco, Morrisons or Ocado for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £500 during your stay at The Retreat Barn. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can check availability and pricing and place your booking request online, or by calling our team on 01242 352 747.
When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
