Designed by an award-winning architect and commanding spectacular rural views, Hillview Retreat is a rather special large house to rent in Devon where you can gather with friends or family for an escape from everyday life.

A splendid, oak-framed open-plan living area is bounded by a huge ‘A’ frame window at one end and a wall of windows to the side. These offer sweeping views of the South Hams landscape, whether you’re cooking in the kitchen, enjoying a sociable meal, or relaxing together on the huge sofas. Bi-fold doors open to a wraparound oak balcony area for al fresco dining, sunbathing and star gazing.

The four spacious bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 guests, are just as luxurious as the living areas and all have access to stunning designer bathrooms. Three bedrooms are on the lower ground floor, where you can step out into the private garden to soak up those views. The fourth is a ground floor bedroom which has an accessible designer bathroom, perfect for those who are less able.

With modern luxuries throughout, including underfloor heating, a Morsø log burner and a private outdoor hot tub, this beautiful luxury house to rent is designed for a relaxing and memorable holiday.

Hillview Retreat sits within a 14-acre estate where you have access to a shared outdoor pool, tennis courts and adventure playground for the children. If the sun fails to make an appearance, relax in the shared indoor pool and sauna room and let the children loose in the soft play area.

What are the check in and check out times?

Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival at Hillview Retreat, and check out is at 9.30am.
Are pets allowed?

Sorry, pets are not allowed at Hillview Retreat. The Estate does have its own dog, Wilson, a long-haired retriever who is very friendly.
Is the property suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Hillview Retreat is baby friendly too with 'pop up' travel cots on request (travel cots are not pre-assembled), as well as highchairs and children's tableware. Bed guards and booster seats on request.
Is the house suitable for stag or hen parties?

No, sorry, the house is only suitable for family groups.
Is there a washing machine?

Yes, there's a handy utility room with a sink, Miele washing machine and separate tumble dryer.
How many guests can sit at the dining table?

There is a dining table at Hillview Retreat that can seat 10 guests comfortably.
Is the outdoor pool open year-round?

The outdoor pool is typically open from the last Bank Holiday in May, closing on the second week in September, subject to weather.
Is the indoor swimming pool open all year round?

Yes, the indoor pool is available from 8.30am until 8.30pm all year round. It has secure access with a key pad code.
What is the nearest beach?

Hillview Retreat is just a 10-minute drive from Blackpool Sands. Set in an unspoilt, sheltered bay amongst evergreens and pines, this Blue Flag awarded shingle beach is located on the beautiful South Devon heritage coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The nearest train station is Totnes which is 20 minutes' drive away (5.8 miles).

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £500 during your stay at Hillview Retreat. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).
