FABULOUS VIEWS AND COSY COMFORTS

With mountains and lakes reflected in its deep bay windows, and colour and comfort within its walls, The Georgian Lakehouse is the perfect choice for a group holiday or special celebration. Feel yourself relax as you step into this Georgian gem, where the views are as enticing as the log burning stove and velvet sofas. Gather in the Tartan Room for cocktails and conversation among booklined shelves and eye-catching artworks, then slip into the Quiet Room and gaze over at Derwentwater. Lose the children to the TV room or the games room, where there are DVDs, toys and Lego. You’ll find the older children playing pool in the room next door.

Mealtimes are easy, with the super-smart and sociable kitchen leading to a delightful dining room, where colourful art adorns the walls, windows frame mountain views and a magnificent, locally-made oak table has room for everyone. Outside, the terrace is for sunny lunches and the barbecue lodge is cosy and fun whatever the weather. In the gardens there are cricket and croquet sets, footballs and more, or sink into the hot tub for a change of pace. In this setting, the whole Lake District experience is yours, from climbing and fell-walking to sailing and paddleboarding, with Keswick nearby and some of the Lake District’s most notable mountains visible from the house.

When bedtime beckons, retire to rooms with king or twin beds, ensuite bathrooms and more lake and mountain views. The main house accommodates 16 guests in eight bedrooms and there’s a separate three-bedroom lodge for six. If you love getting your gang together, love the Lake District and love a little bit of cosy luxury, you’ll absolutely love The Georgian Lakehouse.

What an outstanding place! The house is beautifully done, with absolutely fantastic views and the loveliest beds I've ever slept in. We had a fabulous time with some of our closest friends. Thank you Big House Experience once again for all your help. We've all pledged to make this a yearly thing!

We stayed at the Georgian Lakehouse for my 70th birthday week. Wow what a house ... facilities for ourselves and two grandkids were mega. Keswick only a short walk away and pub and lovely coffee house nearby. Great kids facilities and a hot tub ... So many rooms and bedrooms with views! Great walks nearby - Catbells was epic! I recommend it!
