Merbach Hill House

Merbach Hill House Heart of England

A delightful Herefordshire hideaway

Utterly delightful. No other words will do. Merbach Hill House is a dream hideaway in the beautiful Wye Valley, close to the border of England and Wales. Extended around the original 17th century stone farmhouse, it’s surrounded by five acres of undulating Herefordshire countryside, in which it feels firmly rooted. Stay in the old farmhouse, where the interior décor takes inspiration from nature’s palette – fresh, colourful and inviting. Or choose one of the five modern, split-level, self-contained suites, where you can retreat for sanctuary. Gather in the spacious living areas, which include the double-height dining hall, many cosy lounges, and a large, sociable country kitchen. Dream-like days with games on the lawn drift into perfect evenings enjoying views of the Wye Valley from the wood-fired hot tub, telling stories around the firepit or partying in the rustic barn. Out and about, enjoy country walks from the doorstep, browse the famous book town of Hay on Wye or take a walk in the Black Mountains, Offas Dyke or Wye Valley walk. Sleeping up to 18 guests in nine restful king-size bedrooms with eight large bathrooms, Merbach Hill House lends itself to multi-generational get togethers, special celebrations and corporate escapes.

Guest Reviews

What a gorgeous, relaxing place! My family and I had such a lovely weekend break here. It's a beautiful part of the country - plenty to see, and lots of walking and exploring to do nearby. Kari and Chris were wonderful hosts too! 10/10!

A great 4 days away. Merbach Hill House was a wonderful place to have a family gathering of 3 generations, plus friends. There was lots of flexibility within the 3 reception rooms plus dining area...The hot tub proved to be great fun, and was enjoyed by all that wanted to use it. Happy memories.
