A MAGNIFICENT MANOR WITH COUNTRY VIEWS

History meets luxury at Garden Court, a Herefordshire manor with 14th century roots and a 21st century upgrade. Surrounded by the most beautiful gardens, this is a dream house for your dream gathering of 18 friends or family. There’s also the option to increase your numbers to 31 (see below).

Spread yourselves across the three cosy lounges, where layers of history include stucco ceilings, oak beams and original fireplaces. Play pool in the library, table tennis in the games room, where there’s also a cinema area, and gather for epic mealtimes in the wood panelled dining room. Modern comforts include squishy sofas, an atmospheric bar and events space, and ultrafast Wi-Fi.

Outside, five acres of gardens include south-facing lawns, a David Austin rose garden, walled kitchen garden, orchard and woods, all part of the 22-acre estate amidst the green hills of Herefordshire. Soak up the sunshine in one of the seating areas, play games on the lawn and cook up a feast in the pizza oven. Later, toast marshmallows around the fire pit as the sun sets. Locally, go wildlife watching at Bodenham Lake, visit Hereford for the cider museum and the Mappa Mundi in the Cathedral, and catch the spring blossom in the cider orchards. Tired and happy, retire to bed, where boutique hotel standards mean spacious, characterful rooms, many with seating areas, bathrooms with rainfall showers, and the sweetest of dreams.

Need more space?

There is the potential to accommodate up to 31 guests at Garden Court for an additional cost, with extra put-up beds and a sofa bed in the main house for up to six guests, and a separate coach house which can accommodate up to seven guests. What an amazing place! Stayed here with some friends for a chilled weekend. Everything you could want/need with amazing amenities but with so much authentic charm. Loved the wood fireplaces and all the bathrooms/bedrooms were modern. The bar is super fun too! Little tip - we got some eggs from "Lloyds luscious eggs" farm just a few houses down the lane...deeeelicious! Perfect house for a getaway.

Wow - what an amazing place! Set in beautiful grounds with 9 bedrooms, this was the perfect place for our multi-generation, 4-night family gathering. The beds were very comfy, the bathrooms newly renovated and the owners couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. They provided highchairs, kids' beds and a room full of toys for the little ones, and some fizz for the older ones :) The highlight of our week was the outdoor pizza oven night - thank you so much Frances and Alex for everything you did to make our stay here so special - you made our 9,000 mile round trip worth every penny :)

We had a long weekend here for my 50th birthday with 3 other families, with a range of ages of teenagers and young adults. We all had a fabulous time - the bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely and immediately made people feel they were having a real treat from the moment they took their things up. The big living/dining rooms with real fires (ready laid for us) were great and the kitchen and house were perfectly equipped for a big group with lots of fridge/freezer/oven space and large pots, pans and serving dishes - important if you are cooking for 18! We enjoyed using the outdoor pizza oven and fire pits and the pool table and croquet lawn were particularly popular. Wouldn't look anywhere else if I was booking a special occasion for the same size group again.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Garden Court just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

House FAQs

Is Garden Court suitable for an event?

Yes, the property can accommodate up to 170 day guests in five unique locations (3 inside, 2 outside) which are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. It's also fully licensed and has a music and entertainment license. Please contact us for more information about events at Garden Court.
What are the check in and check out times?

Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival at Garden Court, and check out is at 10am (or 1pm if checking out on a Sunday).
How many cars can be parked at Garden Court?

There is plenty of parking available at Garden Court for up to 10 cars on stone gravel, plus additional space for 40 cars if required.
Are pets allowed?

Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome (more may be accepted on request at the owner's discretion), on the provision they sleep in the cloakroom area and have beds brought for them. There is a fee of £20 per dog that covers additional cleaning.
Is the house suitable for children?
Yes, children are very welcome at Garden Court. The following are provided for children (on request):
- Three travel cots (please bring your own bedding for all cots and cot mattresses if using two or more cots)
- Up to four high chairs
- Children's cutlery and crockery
- Baby bath, baby bath seat, changing mat, toddler step, toddler toilet seat and potty
- Books, toys and DVDs
Are stag and hen parties allowed?

Respectful stag and hen parties are sometimes permitted, but only with express permission from the property owner prior to booking. Please contact us to discuss your booking.
How many guests can sit at the dining table?

The dining room table can seat 22 guests (or up to 32 on request - no extra charge). There is also seating for 8-10 in the breakfast room and the kitchen table seats 6-8.
Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?

Yes. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.
Are there local places to eat you can recommend?
Yes. We'd suggest the following pubs and restaurants which are all 25 minutes’ drive from Garden Court:

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at Garden Court. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
