Weddings at Bay View House

Bay View House is perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings. Every aspect is unforgettable: from your sun-kissed ceremony by the water, to your lavish banquet in the spectacular Great Hall.

As well as the rugged coastal setting (a wedding photographer’s dream), Bay View House is surrounded by verdant countryside, creating a secluded and private feel for your big day. Similarly, the grounds are exclusively yours, meaning you have full use of the house for getting ready and for accommodation for your guests.

There are so many photogenic spots at Bay View House to enjoy and explore, including two spacious beach terraces and five sophisticated and light-filled reception rooms. There’s also direct beach access for those stunning sunset photos on the sand. 

Bay View House holds a wedding license to host up to 50 guests in total.

The beautiful Sky Room with glass roof and stunning views over Waterwynch Beach is licensed for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies, as is the Great Hall and beach facing garden. The house and gardens will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay (apart from two members of staff who, by law, have to attend the ceremony).

Bay View House doesn’t offer traditional wedding packages or coordinators, preferring each couple to create the day they want for themselves. Therefore there are no rigid formulas and they aim to be as flexible as possible, giving the opportunity for you to create your own bespoke experience.

An intimate, formal dinner can be held in the dining room, seating up to 36 guests. Up to 50 guests can be accommodated for a more informal/casual celebration meal, either buffet style in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the beach or the back garden lawns in summer months.   

Please note, you will need to arrange the registrar, flowers, food, waiting staff and entertainment, although the team at Bay View House are more than happy to offer catering recommendations. You will, of course, have full use of all the equipment and amenities within the house.

Unfortunately, marquees or similar temporary structures are not allowed and outdoor music cannot be played after 11pm.

The following wedding fees* are payable for Bay View House’s classic offering, in addition to the cost of the accommodation:

• April to September: £3,250
• October to March: weekend: £2,500 / midweek: £1,800
• Christmas & New Year: £5,000

* Note, these fees apply whether you are having a formal (legal) or informal wedding at the premises. The fees apply even if you choose to have the legal wedding ceremony elsewhere or on another date.

This includes as standard:

• Exclusive venue hire
• Choice of licensed ceremony rooms
• Two staff as legal witnesses (if a legal ceremony)
• Corkage for own drinks

To enhance your wedding, Bay View House offer a number of enhancements to this package so you can tailor your wedding to how you want it.

Additional fees:

• Additional attending guests (over and above guests sleeping at the house): £50 per head
• Moving the central furniture in the Sky Room (if chosen for the ceremony): £180
