The Paisley Pig Hero

The Paisley Pig The South West

A unique and entertaining holiday home

A stunning contemporary conversion of the original farm pig pens and dairy, The Paisley Pig is now a sociable space for 12 guests, with an array of modern comforts and entertaining diversions against a backdrop of thick stone walls and exposed timbers. A further four guests can stay for an extra charge. This makes it a great choice for family holidays and celebrations, chilled out hen weekends and friends’ get-togethers.

Park up and step through the door to the walled garden for your first view of the large glass-walled living quarters. This open plan space spans from the kitchen at one end to a cosy seating area at the other. A stretch of dining table where you can enjoy long, sociable lunches and dinners connects the two – look up at those funky hay-thatched lamp shades, a knowing nod to the building’s past.

Ready for the entertainment? You probably noticed the heated outdoor pool with bubble jets on your way in, but did you spot the outdoor cinema? This perfect al fresco life is complete with a barbecue, pizza oven and fire pit. Back indoors, the open plan living space finds plenty of room for a games zone with pool table, air hockey table and arcade machines. When you’ve won the tournament, flop into a chair in front of the TV wall where there are Xbox handsets and 7 TVs because, well, why not?

The six double bedrooms, all on the ground floor, are luxurious, characterful and spacious, and all have ensuite showers. And there’s one further surprise: the first floor roof terrace, complete with a relaxed seating area, table tennis and a picnic table. Can you think of a better spot for Champagne as the sun goes down?

It’s a fun place to stay but peel yourselves away now and then for the local delights. Before you go anywhere, spend some time exploring the 20-acre estate, keeping an eye out for the resident alpacas. Longleat Safari Park is almost your next door neighbour, nearby Frome offers pubs, restaurants, delis and art galleries, while the big city lights of Bath and Bristol are both close enough for a day trip.
