A stone’s throw from Southsea Beach in Hampshire, Galene House is an immaculately restored Edwardian villa with accommodation for 20 guests. Bring the family - children very welcome - or escape with friends for a luxury seaside break.
Spacious, stylish and welcoming, this south coast retreat has everything you need for a memorable group holiday. The large kitchen-diner boasts an American-style fridge freezer, two ovens and a bean-to-cup coffee machine among many luxury details, and there’s room for a crowd around the table.
Relax in the lounge or discover the cinema room, flopping onto recliner sofas and enjoying Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon TV, a full Sky package, BT Sports and more, all on an 80-inch screen. On sunny days, head outdoors to enjoy a few beers or fire up the barbecue for some al fresco dining together on the decking or sink into the hot tub. Ten comfortable en-suite bedrooms, split over three of the house's four floors, are waiting at the day’s end.
When you’re not creating delicious meals in the kitchen, there are plenty of lovely restaurants within walking distance. Southsea is also full of exciting attractions or you can head further afield for a day out to Portsmouth Historic Docks, Marwell Zoo or the cathedral town of Winchester.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Galene House just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

If dancing and celebrations are in order, the bars and clubs of Gunwharf Quays come alive at night, with restaurants open until late and the bars open even later. Grab a drink or two overlooking the boats bobbing in the Solent, then head inside to dance away the wee hours.

Yes! The house is well-suited to children with a cot and highchair available.

Yes, there is off-road parking available for up to 6 cars. Other car parking is available in the area (charges may apply).

Do you accept pets?
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, charged at £50 per dog.

Are there private chefs that can cater for us during our stay?
Yes, while there is a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering at Galene House, we can put you in touch with some very good local private chefs that can cater for you and your guests for a special celebratory meal, or for every meal during your stay.

Can I book an online supermarket delivery?
Yes, you can arrange for a local supermarket to deliver to the property any time during your stay. We ask that the time booked is after your check-in time, as it’s possible the house-keeper won’t be at the property before that time.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
The check-in time is 4pm on the day of your arrival, and check-out is at 10am on the day of your departure.

Are there any house rules we need to be aware of?
The house is in a town centre location, meaning there are neighbours close to the property. For this reason, we ask that noise is contained within the house from 9pm until 9am the next morning. During this time, we ask that any music is kept to a level that can only be heard inside the house, and that clients don’t use the hot tub.

Do you hold a cautionary deposit?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at Galene House. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can book online or by calling our friendly team on 01242 352 747. When booking, we ask for a deposit of 1/3 of the total price, with the balance payable 3 months prior to your stay.
