Beckstone North of England

A hidden estate at the heart of the lakes

Hidden in a Lakeland idyll with far-reaching views, it’s a surprise to find that Beckstone is just a walk away from the bustling lakeside town of Bowness. With five luxuriously appointed bedrooms, all with views of the Lake or Lakeland fells, this handsome stone mansion is perfect for an intimate get-together of up to 10 friends or family. A hamper of local produce in the kitchen, free wood for the three log burners, and a warm welcome to children and dogs tell you that hospitality lies at the heart of Beckstone. Relax and socialise in the spacious drawing room, elegant dining room and cosy library. Conjure up meals to remember in the well-equipped kitchen, with its Rangemaster professional double cooker and Samsung double fridge freezer. Watch your favourite films in the cinema room with 75-inch screen and surround sound, or play pool, snooker or table football in the games room. Outside, the terrace and lawns are surrounded by a 470-acre estate, and a 10-minute walk takes you to the viewpoint on Brant Fell, where the Lake District sparkles below you. Bowness, with its bars and restaurants, independent shops and outdoor sports, is within walking distance, and the lakes, fells, rivers and dales of the Lake District are yours to explore.

What a stunning house! My family and I had a wonderful weekend exploring this stunning area. The walks you can take directly from the house are just incredible - what absolutely spectacular scenery! We'll undoubtedly be back!

What a wonderful property. The pictures don’t do it justice. The attention to detail is amazing and everything you might need has been thought of. The property sits in tranquil gardens that are stunning. It’s hard to believe you can walk in to the centre of Bowness in just a few minutes. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed in the beautiful Beckstone, set in gorgeous grounds with a wonderful view of Lake Windermere and only a short walk from Bowness on Windermere. Everything had been thought of, the furnishings were sumptuous but cosy and it was the perfect size for our party of 9. We would definitely return.
