Charborne Manor Hero

Charborne Manor The South West

Historic charm meets modern comfort in this Dorset delight

What a beauty Charborne Manor is! Dating back to the 17th century, it has been lovingly and thoughtfully refurbished, blending the best of the old and the new. With space for up to 16 of your favourite people, a host of playtime extras - including a tennis court, a wood-fired hot tub and a games room - and surrounded by six acres of parkland, it sets the scene for a dream holiday.

Stand back and admire the distinctive banded stonework, mullion windows and grand entrance, before making your own grand entrance into the manor. Here, in this sanctuary of soothing Farrow and Ball shades, cosy corners and sociable spaces, you can relax and enjoy a memorable break with family or friends.

In the country style kitchen, complete with four-oven Aga, there’s space and all the mod cons to conjure up fabulous meals. Serve them up in the characterful dining room, where there’s plenty of room for everyone. Then, take drinks in the drawing room or snug, where colourful velvet-soft sofas invite you to linger before a roaring fire, and quirky artworks suggest that you can dispense with formality.

When it’s time to play, hit the tennis court, set up some challenges in the games room or sink into the wood-fired hot tub. Explore the beautiful walled garden and the surrounding parkland before reconvening on the large patio seating area for a barbecue.

Charborne Manor sleeps up to 16 guests in eight luxuriously appointed bedrooms, which share four gorgeous bathrooms. Have a few more folk to invite? For an additional cost, you can separately book the newly refurbished cottage, just a few metres away, which has 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (prices from £320 to £750 per night, depending on the season).

Upstairs and downstairs, inside and out, this Dorset escape is immaculate and welcoming. What’s more, it’s located in a pretty village in Dorset, near to the market town of Blandford Forum and only 20 minutes from the coast at Poole and Sandbanks. Perfect for a gathering of friends and family, Charborne Manor is also a great venue for corporate business or pleasure, away from the office.

Guest Reviews

Recently celebrated my 50th at Charborne Manor and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house was stunning, even more beautiful than the photos, spotlessly clean and the Big House Experience team couldn’t have done any more to help us. Amazing service, wonderful recommendations and a weekend we will never forget.
