Dales Hall Yorkshire

Dales Hall North of England

The perfect venue for a secluded family retreat

This characterful six-bedroom holiday house lies on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales just outside the market town of Skipton in a secluded corner of a 3,000 acre country estate. You are assured a warm welcome with the wood burning stove ablaze, a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge and beautiful views from every window of woodland, meadows and rolling hills.

If we had to come up with a single word to describe Dales Hall it would almost certainly be: quirky. The spacious entrance hall leads to the sitting room and the elegant dining room off which there is the most fantastic kitchen with Aga, utility room and pantry. Upstairs there are six bedrooms, three bathrooms and a huge games room. As you would expect, the whole property is fitted with full central heating, high quality fittings and Wi-Fi.

Guest Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dales Hall, it is a wonderful party house, and had everything we could possibly want. I would recommend Dales Hall to anyone, and the surrounding area is English countryside at its best. Dales Hall met and surpassed our expectations.

Beautiful Gardens AND PLENTY TO DO

Outside, you can enjoy the serenity of the large picturesque garden and the impressive parkland views. Relax in the heated wood-fired hot tub, sip a glass of wine on the seats by the camp fire; you can even pitch a tent for the kids! There is also a double garage and plenty of parking in the gravelled courtyard area.

This is a perfect luxury base for therapy, meditation or yoga retreats or wellness holidays for private or small group classes.

A magnificent location on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales

House FAQs

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?

The check-in time is 4pm on the day of your arrival, and check-out is at 10am on the day of your departure.

  • Are there private chefs that can cater for us during our stay?

Yes, while there is a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering at Dales Hall, we can put you in touch with some very good local private chefs that can cater for you and your guests for a special celebratory meal, or for every meal during your stay.

  • Are there local places to eat out that you can recommend?

Yes. We'd suggest the following pubs and restaurants which are within a short distance of Dales Hall:

The Bull (a short walk from Dales Hall)

Set within the estate you'll find this traditional pub with open fires; flagged stone floors; good old furniture and lots of rugs and plants. Internally, the bar sits at the heart of things with an array of cask ales, shelves full of gins, whiskies and rum to welcome you as you walk through the doors and a wine list of around 50 or so wines.

The Tempest Arms (4 minute drive)

Dating back to the 17th century, this lovely pub has long been known for its warm welcome, with quiet corners and alcoves, plump cushions, roaring log fires, fantastic food and hand pulled ales.

    Le Caveau (9 minute drive)

Once a prison for Craven District's felons and sheep rustlers, there is now little evidence of its former incarnation, and the locals these days are only too pleased to dine at Le Caveau while soaking up the atmosphere of this 16th century building, complete with barrel vaulted ceilings, original beams and exposed stonework.

Oakleys Grill and Pizzeria (9 minute drive)

Smart, family-run Italian restaurant and grill, set on 3 floors of a converted rag mill.

Le Bistro Des Amis (8 minute drive)

A French restaurant serving some stunning French favourites, as well as some British classics.

  • Can I book an online supermarket delivery?

Yes, you can arrange for a local supermarket to deliver to the property any time during your stay. We ask that the time booked is after your check-in time, as it’s possible the housekeeper won’t be at the property before that time.

Yes, up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed (on request).

  • Is the property suitable for a wedding?

Yes, the property is suitable for a wedding for up to 100 guests (subject to additional costs). Please contact us for pricing.

  • Is the property suitable for a stag or hen party?

  • How do I book?

You can book online or by calling our friendly team on 01242 352 747. When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance payable 3 months prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 3 months of your stay).
