Boleyn Hall Hero

Boleyn Hall East of England

A classic and characterful country estate

Boleyn Hall is a Georgian farmhouse with 65 acres in rural Suffolk, just 40 minutes’ drive from the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Throughout, an eclectic mix of colourful sofas, rugs and furnishings add as much cosiness as the many log burners and open fires. Relax immediately into this sumptuous, informal oasis, which exudes character, inside and out. Sink into a soft leather sofa in the drawing room, G&T in hand, your favourite tunes on the Sonos sound system, or escape with a book to the cushioned window seat in the library. Use the two kitchens - a service kitchen and a breakfast kitchen complete with Aga - to cook up delicious meals. Serve up in the main dining room, seating up to 24 guests, or one of the many other indoor and outdoor dining areas.

The gardens are as characterful as the house, from the immaculate croquet lawn to the topiary hedges and lavender beds. Nature’s wild side is given space too, and you can find many a secret picnic spot in sheltered woodlands and wildflower meadows. Spend some time at the tennis court, and the walled kitchen garden, and gather at the pool, with its sunny and sheltered eating and seating areas. Eat al fresco at one of the two barbecue areas. Later in the evening, there’s room for a dozen or so round the woodland firepit.

The seven bedrooms are fizzing with personality beneath exposed, ancient beams. Stay in the Pink Room, with its freestanding bath and garden views or the annex Bakehouse Room, which has space for two fold-up beds for children. Sink into bed looking forward to another day of sociable relaxation in the most amazing surroundings.

Topleft Bottomright

What we think

Boleyn Hall is so full of charm and pleasure. Inside, it is graceful and rich with colour, with a countrified, historic air. Outside, I know I’d have trouble leaving the beautiful pool area, but if you can then there’s tennis, croquet, and roaring fires at the woodland fire pit. Just a marvellous house for a holiday.
