…in a beautiful and historic, rural setting.
If you’re looking for a taste of modern country living but you want it with all the upsides and none of the hardships, we may have just the place for you! This one is a little bit different – and a little bit of a gem. There are six bedrooms – plus three further bedrooms available in a lovely local pub, just 50 yards away. This house brilliantly combines traditional English style with all the latest in today’s most elegant chic design with everything you need at the touch of a button. With great rural views, the bedrooms, all en suite of course, are individually designed with a touch of panache. It is the perfect retreat for a group get together and celebration, you can self-cater or you can relax and opt for a private chef and your own staff on hand to look after you.
Exclusivity also gives you and your guests the chance to indulge in some quality pampering in the steam and sauna house complete with outdoor plunge pool and hot tub. At the end of a busy day there is nothing better than escaping to the Spa Barn to experience a complete sense of well-being. And afterwards, there is a bar with dartboard, games, wood-burner and comfy sofas, for total relaxation and enjoyment. Country living in the finest style!
A good night’s sleep…
After a busy day enjoying country living, a nice relaxing spa, a good meal and a drink or two with friends and family, you’ll be looking forward to a good night’s sleep. Well, we have rooms where you can totally relax in comfort and style. All rooms are en suite with varying décor and views. In the house there are six double bedrooms (two downstairs). Two of the rooms can be set up as twins. And just up the road above the pub, there are an additional three bedrooms if you need them. You can enjoy privacy here, too, as the rooms above the pub have a shared private living room and kitchen. All our rooms have those added touches: Egyptian cotton bedding, white fluffy towels and bath robes warmed on towel rails, extra pillows, fresh flowers and complimentary toiletries. Plus tea, coffee and biscuits. Of course!
Let food be thy medicine…
When it comes to eating, there are loads of options. The house is part of a complex that includes the excellent village pub with tasty bar food and a restaurant offering fantastic meals using locally sourced, seasonal produce. By arrangement, they can also cater for you in the house, looking after your every culinary need. If you’d rather cater for yourselves, no problem. Everything you need is there: a fully-fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, fridge, wine cooler, and all utensils you are likely to need. And you are just across the road from the most fantastic Farm Shop with its amazing deli counter – stocked daily with fresh salads, sausage rolls, steak and ale pies, tarts, tortes, and cakes to name but a fraction of the fare on sale. Most of the offerings are locally sourced and expertly prepared on site. What’s more, you can enjoy a coffee made with freshly ground beans while watching award-winning real ales being brewed in it’s own on-site micro-brewery. You may even be tempted to take a flagon back to the house with you!
Out and about
What to do? Well, of course there’s the spa. We can arrange for a range of spa treatments so you can really pamper yourselves. Just ask! There are loads of walks in the area – we can even provide wellies! – and plenty of interesting things to see. A ten-minute stroll will take you to Edington Prior, completed in 1361 and one of England’s most important. Or, if you’d rather go further afield, about an hour’s walk will take you to the Bratton camp and the famous White Horse, thought to have been originally cut in the late 1600s on the site of Bratton Camp, which dates back over 2,000 years. The whole area is steeped in history and history buffs will have a whale of a time. But if walking and history are not for you, we can arrange axe throwing, biking, a safari tour, fishing, shooting or archery. Heck, we can even arrange a marriage in the brewery if you want! One thing’s for sure, there’s no need to be bored!
