Longslade Hall Hero

Longslade Hall The South West

Stay and play in this joyful Georgian gem

Whatever the occasion Longslade Hall rises to it. Gather all the generations for a family party, bring the girls for some pre-wedding zen time, or make it your base for an annual friends’ reunion. Behind the mellow Georgian façade, this is a house for having fun.

From meals around the huge table in the glass-walled dining room to cocktails in the living room, affectionately called the 'Weird Room', being together is at the heart of a Longslade Hall getaway. Rustle up lunches and dinners in the well-equipped kitchen, which is open and spacious with seats for the spectators and chatterers. After dinner, sink into comfy seats in the 'Weird Room', which is actually a colourful living room with on-trend patterns and textures and quirky wall prints. There are quiet spots too, of course, including the plush comfort of the cinema room.

When you’re ready for the fun to begin, the external and internal games rooms deliver, as does the outdoor pool which is heated for year-round use. The cinema room can also become an Xbox arcade room, giving the option of a third games room. There’s table tennis outside too and you can slow things down again in the sauna and hot tub. Later, bringing everyone together for a barbecue cooked in the outdoor kitchen. Beyond the walled garden where all this al fresco fun takes place is another 20 acres to explore, where you may spot a passing alpaca.

Upstairs, over two floors, eight ensuite bedrooms make room for 18 guests (plus an additional six for an extra charge), with beds for the children included in the mix. The cheerful décor is sensitively blended with original period features to create warm and welcoming bedrooms with luxury ensuites.

Explore the local area

At Longslade Hall, you couldn’t be in a better spot for days out. Longleat Safari Park is almost your next-door neighbour (the house was originally owned by the Longleat Estate and if the wind is blowing in the right direction, you can hear the lions)! The Roman town of Bath is up the road and you are surrounded by more Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty than it’s possible to imagine. Stonehenge is within striking distance, as is Salisbury with its famous cathedral, and Wookey Hole in Somerset is another great place for a family visit.
