The scene is set by the grand marble staircase in the hall, curving to the floors above. In the formal lounge, throw a log onto the open fire and relax into your holiday. In the second lounge, open the doors to the terrace and views of More Hall Reservoir and Ewden Valley. The well-equipped breakfast kitchen has Miele appliances and an informal dining area; there’s a formal dining hall too, with an open fire.

Drop down a floor for the decadent spa area, complete with indoor pool, sauna, steam room, bar, gym and a treatment room. The pool room has French doors opening to a private terrace, with sun loungers and fountains. The gardens are landscaped, with sweeping lawns and a greenhouse with seasonal produce. Start your evenings with sundowners on the ground level terrace, soaking up the views. After a leisurely dinner, head down to the cinema room for a family movie.

When it’s time for bed, the opulence goes up another notch, with Mandarin stone bathrooms, sumptuous furnishings and supremely comfortable beds. One room has a gold four-poster, two have balconies overlooking the valley, and another room has a chaise longue. This is a house for sweet dreams.

The peaceful seclusion at Ewden Valley Manor belies the fact that you can easily get to Sheffield, York and Manchester, explore the Peak District and visit Chatsworth House. With such great connections and luxury inside and out, it’s perfect for a family break or a friends’ get-together.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Ewden Valley Manor just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?

Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.
How many cars can park at the property?

There is parking for at least 8 cars at the property.
Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?

Yes, you can order online with Tesco, Waitrose or Ocado for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.
Are children welcome?

Children are very welcome at Ewden Valley Manor. Please bring your own cots and highchairs. Please note, parents should supervise children at all times around the pool area and also due to the proximity of the reservoir.
Are stag and hen parties allowed?

Sorry, Ewden Valley Manor is not suitable for hen or stag parties. We politely ask that this is respected.
Are pets allowed?

Well-behaved dogs may be considered, subject to prior agreement with the property owner (additional fee of £50 per dog). Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings. Please contact us before booking to discuss.
How many guests can sit at the dining table?

The main dining table in the dining hall can seat up to 12 guests.
Can you recommend any local places to eat out?

Yes, we'd recommend the following pubs and restaurants, all within a short distance of the property:

Ponti’s Italian Kitchen, Stocksbridge (5 minutes’ drive)

Zorro Lounge, Stocksbridge (5 minutes’ drive)

The Old Horns Inn, High Bradfield (15 minutes' drive)

The Schoolrooms, Low Bradfield (15 minutes' drive)

There's also a good selection of restaurants in Sheffield city centre (approximately 8 miles away).

The nearest train station is Sheffield (9 miles).

The nearest airport is Manchester (40 miles).
Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £2,000 during your stay at Ewden Valley Manor. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).
How do I book?

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
