Despite the fact this house was original built in 1690 The Grange, Derbyshire has an air of modernity and comfort. Bright, modern décor is the hallmark of the house with two comfortable sitting rooms with views over the courtyard and gardens. The wonderful orangery with French doors to the garden, lies alongside the main kitchen where there is a dining table for up to 22 people. For smaller groups there is a formal dining room that seats ten. And the house is fully fitted with two dishwashers, instant hot water, a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities, a steam cooker, a range cooker, an induction hob and an American fridge!

The master bedroom suite at The Grange, Derbyshire has to be seen to be believed! It is 100ft long with original exposed beams, a Victorian open fireplace and great views over the courtyard and gardens. The en-suite has a double Jacuzzi whirlpool bath, a walk in double power shower, double sink and vanity unit, WC and airing cupboard.

At other end of the spectrum the old apple store can sleep six kids with access via a spiral staircase. Just the stuff for childhood adventures that will remain as happy memories for ever. There are seven other bedrooms, some with Jacuzzis and some that can be set up as either twins or doubles. There is also a family room with two double beds and if you really need it there is a double sofa bed in the landing! There is huge flexibility in the accommodation that it can be arranged to suit most family groups.

There is so much to do in The Grange, Derbyshire that you could spend your entire holiday there, but one of the unusual characteristics of this property is that it in a village so you can easily walk to great local pubs either for a relaxing pint or for an entire meal! The nearest pub is only a minute’s walk away!!

Only slightly further afield you can enjoy a day spa at Champneys, clay pigeon shooting, pistol and air rifle shooting, archery and paint ball. So there is plenty to do to make sure your stay is as action packed – or as relaxing – as you want.

The Grange sleeps 8-22 people throughout the 8 bedrooms (a further 2 dressing rooms which can also sleep an additional 4 if needed making total occupancy maximum of 26 guests). This really is a luxurious country estate boasting a 12-foot swim spa/hot tub, games room with pool table, a cinema with a 3-metre wide screen, 100-foot master suite, exquisite bathrooms, two of which have spa baths, plus four reception rooms and broadband wireless internet in most areas of the house

Ground Floor

  • Entrance halls: There are two spacious entrance halls to meet and greet guests
  • Sitting rooms: There are two sitting rooms with beautiful views over the courtyard and gardens
  • Kitchen: Along with adjoining orangery forms the heart of this home, offering both a breakfast bar and full dining area. Handmade, bespoke shaker solid timber kitchen with a central island, Star Galaxy granite work-surfaces, range cooker with induction hob, full size American fridge freezer, two integral dishwashers, double butler sink, instant hot water tap, integral steam cooker and warming drawer, solid oak floors, Victorian leaded light windows, TV and internet point. Perfect for entertaining! There is a large dining table which comfortably seats 6-26 diners
  • Orangery: Handmade, solid timber, fully double glazed, south facing, creates an amazing room that can be used all year round, offering wonderful views of the terrace and gardens with ample seating for guests. Two sets of French doors lead to the terrace and gardens
  • Formal Dining room: Large 10-seater antique table and sideboards
  • Billiards room: With a full-size pool table, dart board and wide selection of games
  • Cloakrooms: Two downstairs cloakrooms with a W.C.
  • Snug: The oldest part of the house, dating back to 1690. Original exposed beams, travertine floor, Victorian windows, Piano.
  • Cinema: A home theatre with eight reclining seats, surround sound speaker system and 3 metre screen. A range of Blu-rays are available, or you can of course bring your own
  • Utility Room: Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Ironing facilities are all available for your use during your stay

First Floor

  • Master bedroom suite: 100-foot long with two dressing rooms and an en-suite bathroom. One of the dressing rooms can also be used as a further bedroom (double bed sofa) or nursery.   • Three further large double bedrooms, all with freeview TV. The beds can be set up as one Superking, or two singles.
  • Two further bathrooms on the first floor, including an oversized Jacuzzi whirlpool bath, a walk-in double power shower, double sink with fully fitted units and granite surfaces, WC and airing cupboard. Ceramic tiled floor, original Victorian fireplace and leaded light windows overlooking the courtyard
