Suckley Hall

Escape from the city

English Tudor elegance…

…deep in the Worcestershire countryside

There’s more to explore outside. In the 140-acre estate and a sense of serenity encompasses you as you wander through the acres of gardens. Country house style and space

To recharge and refresh you

Set around a central courtyard, the internal spaces are comfortable and inviting and full of hidden surprises. Low-beamed ceilings are the backdrop to comfy sofas, rich tapestry rugs and open fires. Rustle up a royal breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen, dress for decadent dinners in the traditional dining rooms, and savour a late-night single malt from the walnut whisky bar, as you sink into a vintage leather armchair.

Outside, enjoy an early morning hike, perhaps plucking an apple from the orchard as you pass. Later, go rowing on one of the two lakes or a play a tennis match. The early evening calls for drinks and a barbeque on the terrace, with views of the unspoilt valley. The estate insulates you from the outside world and it’s yours to explore and enjoy.

Epic bedrooms

With truly unique features

Each bedroom has its own style, with delightful one-off details. In one master bedroom, there’s a chinoiserie mural hand-finished with gold leaf that catches the light, and bears closer inspection. It depicts an English scene, with pheasants and magnolia blossom.

Perhaps you’d prefer the Peacock Suite, with a bathroom separated from the bedroom by a double fronted fire. Or there is the Oast House Suite with its distinctive bathroom up in the top of the oast house.  Tally Ho is another master bedroom, it has a gorgeous wood panelled ensuite bathroom featuring a freestanding copper bathtub. Little Hall houses three Master suites with Art Deco details in one room giving way to hand-painted trailing wisteria in another.

The designs are whimsical and endlessly fascinating and the attention to detail extends to all your creature comforts, with the finest quality bed linens, blissful sleep-inducing mattresses and beautiful bespoke luxurious bathrooms.

A day at the races

Or a day on the estate

Suckley Hall is an ideal base for the Cheltenham Races, you can even land your helicopter on the estate to make life easy. The more immediate Worcestershire countryside, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is the perfect antidote to London life and close enough for a weekend in the country. Wildlife abounds, with sightings of muntjac deer, spring hares and wild ducks. Observe the lambs and sheep in the fields or amuse yourself watching the playful antics of the guinea fowl.

Enjoy stabling for your horse, home-from-home kennels for the dogs, tennis, boating and walking, all on the estate. Country pursuits can be booked, and the Malvern Hills are on the doorstep for a more energetic outdoor adventure. City life, if your urban roots are showing, is catered for in the quintessentially English cathedral city of Worcester.

Close to Birmingham Airport and yet a world away from the daily grind, Suckley Hall is your own English country estate without no strings attached.
