Madoc Manor Wales

Farmhouse charm in a Welsh country manor

Sweep up the tree-lined driveway, loosen your bonnets and enter Madoc Manor, your temporary country residence chock full of charming Georgian details. In the entrance hall - a room in its own right - feel the welcome as the tick of the ancient grandfather clock marks the start of a memorable holiday.

This is a house that begs to be explored, with twists and turns and nooks and crannies leading you to a cosy snug here, a grand dining room there and, in a surprising twist, a fireplace that once stood in the Houses of Parliament. This is in the living room, a place to gather for pre-dinner drinks around the bar area, complete with piano, soaking up the history while enjoying more modern comforts, plus lovely views over the lake.

Having a party or planning a wedding? This is the perfect venue with plenty of space for you and your guests to celebrate together. Enjoy the friendly farmhouse vibe, which softens any formality in this luxurious manor house. The house and gardens have many beautiful backdrops for your photos.

The sociable kitchen, complete with wine cooler and kitchen island with bar stools, shows that the 21st century can coexist in perfect harmony with the history around it. Right beside it, another workhorse of a kitchen lends itself to catered events.

Outside, the lawns sweep down to the trout lake and you feel you have surely witnessed this scene in a painting or costume drama with a picnic laid out, ladies beneath sun parasols and gentlemen pouring the Champagne. It’s certainly a scene worth recreating.

Back inside and it won’t be long before someone discovers the wood-panelled billiard room and a challenge is laid down, before a night cap in the bar and off to bed. Up the original polished wood staircase are 10 luxurious bedrooms across two floors, many with views through tall sash windows down to the lake and the Preseli Hills beyond. Five of the first floor rooms are ensuite with two more sharing a family bathroom. The remaining three rooms, on the second floor, share a modern shower room. With space for up to 21 of your nearest and dearest, Madoc Manor is ideal for celebrations and get togethers.
