Hilda's Cottage North of England

A traditional taste of Yorkshire, full of character and comfort

Whether you’re here for the last of the summer wine or a cosy winter’s stay, Hilda's Cottage in Yorkshire, on the edge of the Peak District is the perfect place to gather. Close to Yorkshire’s beautiful Holme Valley – the film location for perhaps England’s best-loved TV comedy – this delightful cottage which is made up of two connected buildings, has room for up to 12 guests. With a spacious open-plan layout, it’s ideal for family celebrations.

The well-equipped dining kitchen has everything you need to rustle up brilliant breakfasts, leisurely lunches and sociable suppers. It opens out to a cosy lounge, keeping things sociable. And, in a quirky twist, a secret downstairs room houses an ice hockey table acting as a link to the second part of the cottage in a second building. Climb the oak staircase to the first floor, where exposed beams add rustic charm to five of the six characterful ensuite bedrooms. Here, there’s a further sitting room where you can flop onto long low sofas and relax.

Outside, serve summer drinks on the sunlit terrace before firing up the barbecue. Wander through the landscaped gardens which climb and fall with the contours of the land, and jump into the hot tub whatever the season.

Hilda's Cottage lets you combine a city break with a country break. From the gentle beauty of the Holme Valley and the wild open spaces of the Peak District to the vibrant city of Sheffield, a world of contrasts in this wonderful corner of Yorkshire is on your doorstep, waiting to be explored.

Larger group?
